Orchards Sifton Adaptive Signals

This project will add new high-speed ethernet cables along sections of Northeast 76th Street and Ward Road, crossing SR 503 to the Clark County traffic signal office. To enable specific adaptive signal operation needs, this project will provide improved data for automated traffic signal performance measures and continual turn movement counts at the eight traffic signals with new adaptive signals. A fisheye camera system will also be installed, which will gather turn movement counts 24/7 and will expand the number of adaptive modules by adding Synchro Green Adaptive devices at these signals. These modules will maximize the use of roadway capacity, decreasing driver fuel consumption and reducing idle times.

Major work of this project includes:

  • Expand intelligent transportation system and systems engineering data collection and documentation.
  • Install fiber optic interconnect cable and channel, providing gigabit speed to the signal shop for reliable communication to the traffic signal network for troubleshooting and operations.
  • Add Synchro Green Adaptive devices at eight existing signalized county intersections.
  • Install new intelligent transportation system cameras at eight existing signalized intersections.
  • Improve bicycle safety at the signalized intersections that receive new intelligent transportation system cameras.
  • Develop a before and after study of collisions and corridor travel time.

Project timeline
