Northeast 15th Avenue (Northeast 179th Street to Northeast 10th Avenue)

Public Works is designing a new roadway extension for Northeast 15th Avenue.  The extension starts at Northeast 179th St, heading north and then west to intersect NE 10th Avenue, covering a total distance of 0.60 miles. The road will be designed as one travel lane in each direction including center turn lane/median, sidewalks and bicycle lanes. A new bridge will be constructed to cross a tributary of Whipple Creek. The project will also include construction stormwater drainage and environmental mitigation infrastructure.

This project will extend Northeast 15th Avenue for 0.60 miles, heading north and then west from Northeast 179th Street to Northeast 10th Avenue. The roadway will feature one travel lane in each direction, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and curb and gutter systems. A new bridge will be constructed to cross a tributary of Whipple Creek. The project will also improve drainage and stormwater treatment in the area, which includes both forested and open land. Environmental mitigation will be incorporated to meet federal, state, and local standards.

Project goals:

  • Provide infrastructure improvements in support of the Clark County Comprehensive Growth Management Plan and the changing needs of the community.
  • Use sound engineering designs that improve the safety of the corridor and reduce congestion.
  • Minimize impacts to adjacent property owners and neighbors while meeting safety and road standards and permitting requirements.
  • Develop a corridor and drainage system that can be efficiently maintained.

Residents are encouraged to contact the project manager any time with concerns, suggestions and input. Opportunities for feedback, such as open houses, will be hosted throughout the project. Public Works incorporates resident input when feasible. County projects are designed by professional engineers. We balance community input with other considerations to create the best possible final design. Considerations include safety, environmental impacts, budget and legal requirements. Input among residents, user groups and stakeholders often differs. While we do our best to incorporate resident input, it is not possible to incorporate all input or requests. Please contact the project manager (information at the bottom of the page) with questions or comments.
