About the project

tag

When the Mayer’s Terrace Phase II subdivision was constructed in 1994, a planned stormwater treatment swale was never installed, leaving the area with no stormwater treatment. This project upgrades existing drainage structures in the roadway by installing catch basin cartridges and a drywell to provide the missing stormwater treatment and infiltration.

Treatment will be provided by removing the existing standard catch basins along the curb, and installing new catch basins that contain replaceable cartridges filled with filter material that removes dirt and pollution. After treatment, the water will be piped to a new drywell under Northeast 87th Street. A drywell is a type of manhole that allows the treated water to infiltrate back into the ground.

This repair is included in the 2024-2029 Stormwater Capital Plan adopted by the Clark County Council.
