Bridge 273 (Daybreak) and Bridge 169 (Matney) Rehabilitation

This project will rehabilitate two Clark County bridges: bridge 273 carrying Northeast Daybreak Road over the East Fork Lewis River between Ridgefield and Battle Ground, and bridge 169 carrying Northeast 232nd Avenue over Matney Creek north of Camas. Bridge supports will be rehabilitated on bridge 169, removing the existing load weight restrictions.

About the project

Currently, several bridges throughout Clark County have weight restrictions in place. This project will improve the structure of bridge 169 to enable removing the current weight restrictions.

Improvements at both bridge locations will include erosion mitigation and prevention, strengthening the bridges’ structures, improving drainage control and bank stabilization. The project is currently in the design phase.

Project timeline

Construction is expected in 2025. As final designs are completed, this page will be updated with more detailed information. Area residents will also receive mailers with project information, timelines, road closure information and more.

Budget

The bridge 273 project is anticipated to cost $3,336,560. A grant from the Federal Highway Bridge Program will pay for a portion of the cost for this project. County funding will pay for the remaining portion of the costs.

The bridge 169 project is anticipated to cost $1,275,218. A grant from the Federal Highway Bridge Program will pay for a portion of the cost for this project. County funding will pay for the remaining portion of the costs.
