The COVID-19 vaccination site that opened last Friday in the Tower Mall parking will continue for at least another week. The vaccination site is a collaboration between Clark County Public Health, the city of Vancouver and Safeway.

During the first week of operations, about 2,400 people were vaccinated over four days. Safeway is providing the Pfizer vaccine for the site through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program and secured additional vaccine to continue vaccinations for another week and increase the number of available appointments.

Clark County Public Health continues to work through its COVID-19 vaccine referral list to connect eligible people with facilities that have vaccine. To date, Public Health has made more than 34,000 referrals for vaccination to local providers.

Public Health is encouraging everyone who submits a referral request to check their email daily, including email junk folders. Providers are reaching out to people who have submitted requests using the contact information provided on the webform. Clark County’s COVID-19 vaccine allocation is increasing substantially this week. Through 11 weeks, Clark County received an average of 4,175 first doses of COVID-19 vaccine from the Washington State Department of Health. The vaccine was distributed to health care facilities, pharmacies and community vaccination sites throughout the county.

In the first month of operation, 4,648 people received free COVID-19 tests at the Tower Mall COVID-19 Community Testing Site.

The testing site opened on Jan. 12 and operates five days a week. On opening day, 375 people were tested for COVID-19 – the highest number of tests administered in one day.

Testing at the site is recommended for people 4 years and older who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or who have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
