The playground and northern portion of the trail at Orchards Community Park will be closed beginning Monday, Nov. 28 while a contractor services hazardous trees within the park. The closure will be in place daily through Friday, Dec. 2. Signs will be posted to notify park users of the closure.
Hazardous trees are those with structural defects that make them likely to fall in whole or in part. The Parks and Lands Division of Public Works removes hazardous trees when they present a risk to park users or property, or to neighboring properties. Several hazardous trees in the park will be trimmed and others will be removed.
To receive information about road and park projects, closures, opportunities for community input, and more, residents can follow Public Works on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and view information on Nextdoor.
