Klineline Pond at Salmon Creek Regional Park will be closed to the public Wednesday, Aug. 24 for maintenance crews to safely remove a damaged picnic shelter and repair the splash pad water-play feature.

One of the two reservable picnic shelters at Klineline was severely damaged by a tree that fell during a storm. The damaged structure must be removed before a new shelter can be constructed. Removal of the structure and three hazardous trees nearby requires use of heavy equipment, machinery and large vehicles. To ensure the public’s safety the park must be closed while this equipment is in use.

During the closure maintenance staff will also be performing maintenance and repairs on the splash pad water-play feature.

The closure will be in effect during park hours, from 7 am to dusk. The bridge over Salmon Creek, connecting the parking lot with Klineline Pond, will be closed. The parking lot at Klineline Pond will remain open. Visitors should be aware of heavy equipment, machinery and vehicles entering and exiting the park using the Klineline Pond parking lot. Other areas of the park, including the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail and the softball fields, will remain open.
