Vancouver, WA – The Board of County Councilors is seeking applicants to fill volunteer positions representing southwest Clark County and agricultural interests on the Solid Waste Advisory Commission.
Commission members provide recommendations to the county about issues such as recycling, garbage collection, landfills, transfer stations and waste reduction.
Members meet quarterly at 6 p.m. on the first Thursday of February, May, August and November at the Center for Community Health, 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd.
Applicants for the southwest Clark County representative must live south of 179th Street and west of State Route 503/117th Avenue or its extension. This area includes the fairgrounds, Salmon Creek, Felida, Lake Shore, Hazel Dell, Minnehaha, Walnut Grove, Five Corners, north Orchards and Vancouver west of 117th Avenue.
Applicants for the agricultural representative must be involved in or a have background in:
- Farming and food processing
- Extension office, conservation district or other agricultural agency
- Compost or agricultural debris facilities
- Other agricultural fields in Clark County
Both positions have three-year terms which begin as soon as the positions are filled.
