Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County’s Green Business program will host a free Morning Blend networking event 8-9 am Thursday, May 17, at the Clark County Habitat for Humanity Store, 10811 SE Second St.

Morning Blend is an opportunity for business leaders to network, discuss green business efforts at their workplaces and learn how businesses can reduce their impact on the environment. Members of the public who are interested in learning more about environmental issues related to businesses also are invited to attend.

The event will feature a presentation by representatives of the Clark County Habitat for Humanity Store. The discount home-improvement store sells donated building materials, appliances and furniture to be reused by their customers.

“The Clark County Habitat for Humanity Store incorporates a number of green business practices, which helps them operate efficiently and keep costs low,” said Sarah Keirns, environmental outreach specialist at Clark County Public Health. “The store also includes an impressive recycling center. This event will be a great opportunity to learn about their efforts to reuse and recycle material that would otherwise go to landfill.”
