Clark County Green Neighbors is celebrating the program’s anniversary with a free cooking class for the community. Participants will learn ways to reduce food waste and become part of a community dedicated to sustainable cooking.

Join educators from Clark County Green Neighbors and WSU Clark County Extension SNAP-ED program for Scrappy Cooking 2-3:30 pm Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Vancouver Community Library Columbia Room, 901 C St. Advance registration for the event is requested, but not required. Register on the Green Neighbors website

Creative cooking expert Stacey Tigner-Loy with the WSU Clark County Extension SNAP-ED program will lead a workshop focused on reimagining leftovers to reduce food waste. Get inspired by an educational presentation paired with a live cooking demonstration, enjoy an interactive Q&A session, and grab a QR code for a recipe book.

The event will also include raffle prizes and light refreshments. In honor of Green Neighbors’ waste-reduction mission, guests who bring their own reusable cup will receive a second raffle ticket.

Green Neighbors is a Clark County Public Health program dedicated to promoting residential waste reduction, composting, and recycling. For more information about the program, visit the Green Neighbors website or email info@clarkgreenneighbors.org
