Consumer Voices Are Born (CVAB)

CVAB operates a mental health Self-Help Recovery Center, Warm Line, and Employment and Education Center (clubhouse). The Self-Help Recovery Center provides regularly scheduled activities and readily accessible peer support. CVAB is a complement to the mental health and crisis system and the services offered include support groups, classes, social activities, and volunteer opportunities.

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness)

NAMI is a national grassroots organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with severe mental illnesses, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and severe anxiety disorders. Their efforts focus on support for individuals and the families of persons with serious brain disorders, and education to eliminate the pervasive stigma surrounding severe mental illness.

NAMI is actively involved in advocating for non-discriminatory and equitable federal, state, and private-sector policies. They also participate in research to study the causes, symptoms, and treatment for brain disorders.

Behavioral Health Ombudsman

The Office of Behavioral Health Advocacy (OBHA) is an independent body protecting the interests of Washingtonians engaged in behavioral health services and their supports by providing consulting, resources, advocacy, and mediation for complaints against behavioral health services by individual providers and facilities.

It supports individuals and their families who are being served and supported in the Washington State behavioral health system. OBHA uses a trauma-informed approach to enhance behavioral health awareness, promote self-empowerment, and increase access to services. It assists individuals, families, and communities across WA State with behavioral health needs and concerns.

The work of the OBHA is based on desired outcomes expressed by participants. It provides information and referrals to all community members and assist with complaints, grievances, appeals, Mental Health Advanced Directives, and the Fair Hearings process.
