This English Gambrel-style barn was built in 1917 in place of the original barn that burnt down in 1915. The original use for the barn was to house and milk dairy cattle and for hay storage in the huge loft. The current owner (Dough Roth) is the fourth generation descendant of the original owner. The farm has been in the same family continuously for nearly 100 years. Doug Roth’s great-grandfather originally purchased 900 acres and the barn around 1915, but didn't move the family there until the early 1930's from where they were farming in Faloma, OR. Doug Roth’s great-grandfather and his sons ran the dairy and passed it on to his eldest son who farmed until the late 1990s when he was in his mid-eighties. Since then the barn has sat empty and has begun to deteriorate and show its age. Doug Roth purchased the dairy barn and silo in 2015 and have hopes of returning it to its former glory as a working farm.
The farm roof is built in the gambrel style with metal roof covering and wood board and batten siding. The roof has a cupola and hay hood, and the barn has a silo and milking shed.
