This Craftsman Bungalow constructed of red-orange brick from a brickyard in Ridgefield is the only masonry bungalow in the Battle Ground area. This type of brick wall has been called the “ideal wall” because of its insulation properties. 

The house is significant for its association with Henry Rieck. Henry, an immigrant from Germany settled in Battle Ground in 1911. As general manager of a local cheese factory, that was one of the nations largest producers, he contributed to the economic and agricultural history of Clark County.

  • Listed on the Clark County Heritage Register in 1998.
