Clark County Council Chair Karen Dill Bowerman is seeking applicants to fill an opening on the council for a representative in District 5. The opening is pending as current District 5 representative Councilor Eileen Quiring O’Brien has announced her intention to retire.

The open position is for a representative who lives in North Clark County.
The term for position begins immediately and ends Sept. 30, 2024.

Vancouver, Wash. – Due to a staffing shortage, the Clark County Auditor’s Office is updating hours for in-person services at its Auto Licensing Office located at 1408 Franklin St.
Effective Monday, Feb. 14, the new hours for in-person service will be 1-4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The new hours will remain in effect until May 1, 2022.
Phone assistance will be available 9 am to noon and 1-4:30 pm. The Auto Licensing Office will continue to process mail-in and online transactions.
Beginning Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, City Electric Co. of La Center will begin work to install SynchroGreen adaptive modules on the Northeast Tenny Road/Northeast 134th Street/Northeast 139th Street corridor. These modules will maximize the use of roadway capacity, decreasing driver fuel consumption and reducing idle times. The project is the fourth SynchroGreen adaptive signal installation in the Clark County traffic signal network. Gridsmart video systems will also be installed, at key intersections along the corridor, to collect data used to make transportation safer for all road users.
County Manager Kathleen Otto is seeking applicants for several open positions on the volunteer Animal Protection and Control Advisory Board.
The three (3) positions are for Clark County residents that represent:
- Licensed veterinarian
- Facility owner
- Dog owner
- Animal owner other than dog or cat
Terms for the positions begin immediately and end Dec. 31, 2025.
The Commission on Aging will hold a joint meeting with the Clark County Council and present a summary of its ninth year of work on Wednesday, Feb. 16. The 4:30 p.m. meeting will be held in a virtual format via Webex.
The county manager is seeking applicants to fill one pending vacancy on the Clark County Development and Engineering Advisory Board, DEAB. The position is for an at-large representative and is open to professionals associated with land development.
The term for the position is three years beginning April 1, 2022 and ending March 31, 2025.
The advisory board reviews policy and county code changes and works on process improvements and fees with the county’s Community Development, Community Planning and Public Works departments.
