Vancouver, WA ‒ Clark County citizens have until Tuesday, Oct. 10, to submit a mail-in voter registration form to be eligible to vote in the Nov. 7, 2017 general and special election. Voter registration forms must be postmarked no later than Oct. 10.

Online registration applications can be submitted up to 11:59 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9. To register online, visit the Elections Office website at clarkvotes.org and click on MyVote. 

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County Elections will conduct a logic and accuracy test of programming to tabulate ballots and accessible voting units for the Nov. 7 general election at 10 am Tuesday, Sept. 26.

The test will be  at Clark County Elections, 1408 Franklin St. The public is invited to attend this test, which is required under Washington law.

Ballots for the Nov. 7 general election will be mail to all Clark County registered voters Friday, Oct. 20.

Vancouver, Wash. ‒ A hearing regarding a challenge to the voter registration of a Port of Vancouver commissioner candidate has been rescheduled to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, in Conference Room 226 of the Auto Licensing and Elections Building, 1408 Franklin St.

The hearing originally was set for Sept. 8, but has been delayed to accommodate the schedules of all those involved.

Vancouver, Wash. ‒ Each year, the Clark County Auditor’s Office and state publish a voters’ pamphlet for the general election and mail it to all Clark County households. It includes candidate statements and photographs and local ballot measures with supporting and opposing statements written by citizens.

Vancouver, Wash. ‒ Starting at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, Clark County Elections officials will conduct a hand count of approximately 600 randomly selected ballots as part of a manual comparison against machine results.

The 600 ballots will be counted in the total Aug. 1 election returns, but in this comparison, the Vancouver mayoral race also will be counted by hand to help prove the accuracy of the ballot tabulation equipment.

The procedure was recommended by Washington Secretary of State’s Office, and is now standard procedure in Clark County.

Vancouver, Wash. ‒ On Tuesday, June 6, Clark County Elections will conduct a logic and accuracy test of the programming that will be used to tabulate the ballots and accessible voting units for the Tuesday, Aug. 1 primary.

The 10 a.m. test will be at the Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St. Members of the news media, candidates, jurisdictions with measures on the ballot and general public are invited to attend this test, which is required under Washington law.

Ballots will be mailed Friday, July 14.

Vancouver, Wash. ‒ Clark County Elections will host its annual political party observer training 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in the conference room at the Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St.

This training is for people interested in participating as a political party observer during an election cycle. The training is a prerequisite to serving as an observer.

Election observer training provides an overview of how ballots are processed, including their inspection and the operation of ballot-counting equipment.

Vancouver, Wash. ‒ On Wednesday, May 24, Clark County Elections will mail approximately 3,300 new voter registration identification cards to voters in areas scheduled to be annexed by Vancouver.

State law requires Elections to send voters new cards each time their district or precinct number changes, as either can with annexation.

The Clark County Elections Office is seeking people to write statements against three measures on the Aug. 1 primary ballot. The statements will be included in the local voters's pamphlet sent out before the election.

Statements supporting the three measures were submitted to Elections for inclusion in the pamphlet, but no one has been identified to write statements opposing the local ballot measures. In such cases, Elections attempts to find people who want to write opposing statements.
