Vancouver, Wash. ‒ Starting at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, Clark County Elections officials will conduct a hand count of approximately 600 randomly selected ballots as part of a manual comparison against machine results.

The 600 ballots will be counted in the total Aug. 1 election returns, but in this comparison, the Vancouver mayoral race also will be counted by hand to help prove the accuracy of the ballot tabulation equipment.

The procedure was recommended by Washington Secretary of State’s Office, and is now standard procedure in Clark County.

If a voter has not received a ballot, he or she should call the Elections Office at 360.397.2345 or email elections@clark.wa.gov.

If a voter recently moved and did not notify the Elections Office about a change of address, his or her ballot will be returned as undeliverable. Ballots are not forwarded.

Starting Friday, July 28, voters can download a replacement ballot at clarkvotes.org. The voter must print the ballot and return it to the Elections Office following the instructions included with the ballot. Click on Need a Replacement Ballot? to get started.
