It is a priority of Clark County elections officials and the Office of the Secretary of State to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to vote independently and privately. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about how to register or vote. We are here to help at 564.397.2345 or elections@clark.wa.gov.

Accessible voting units

In addition to voting by mail, voters with a disability may vote using accessible voting units (AVUs). You may vote using an AVU which presents your ballot on a monitor. You select choices by touching the screen, by using a wheel, or by using a tool. You can use headphones to listen to the text. Machines can also be fitted with sip-and-puff tools. If you would prefer to use a sip-and-puff tool, please bring your tool with you when you come to the Elections Office. AVUs are wheelchair-accessible and screened from other voters to maintain privacy.

Citizens are also welcome to come to the Elections Office for a hands-on demonstration of how to vote using an AVU. Call the Elections Office at 564.397.2345 or email us at elections@clark.wa.gov to arrange an appointment to vote using an AVU or to arrange a demonstration.

AVUs are available from 8 am until 4 pm beginning 18 days prior to each election at the Elections Office at 1408 Franklin Street, Vancouver. On Election Day, AVUs are available from 7 am until 8 pm.

If you need transportation to our office and you do not use C-TRAN buses, please contact C-VAN at 360.695.0123 or (TTY 360.695.9715).
