The Clark County Public Works permit office’s hours of operation are changing. This will impact services for over-legal, house (structure) move, street use, and temporary RV parking permits.

Beginning July 17, the new hours of operation will be 7-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every other Friday. The office will be closed every other Friday.

UPDATE: The earlier version of this release included the incorrect end date for the 30-day public comment period. The correct end date is July 28. Please see updated version below.

Clark County Public Works, Parks and Lands division is seeking public comment on a proposed update to park use fees. This includes fees for picnic shelter reservations, sports field reservations, park use permits meeting room reservations, and parking fees.

UPDATE: The location of the listening session scheduled for Tuesday, June 27 has changed. The session was previously scheduled to take place at the Clark County Public Safety Complex. The session will now take place at the west picnic shelter at Fairgrounds Community Park, located at 216 NW 164th St., Ridgefield. The listening sessions on Monday, June 26 and Thursday, June 28 will take place at the Public Safety Complex as previously announced. Please see the updated version below.

Clark County Public Works, Parks and Lands division will work with a tree service contractor this summer to trim and/or remove hazardous trees at several neighborhood parks and a natural area. Hazardous trees, identified by arborists, are those with structural defects that make them likely to fall in whole or in part. Parks and Lands removes hazardous trees when they present a risk to park users or property, or to neighboring properties. 

Beginning Friday, June 17, Northwest 11th Avenue will be closed between Northwest 149th Street and Northwest 179th Street as a private contractor, Rotschy INC, installs a new sanitary sewer line. Construction requires a 200-foot work area that does not allow for traffic to safely use the road while sewer work is underway. This closure will allow for completion of a project that began in November 2022. The initial approved project-related closure ended in May. This closure extension is necessary for completion of the project.

Clark County is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the seven-member Parks Advisory Board. The term would begin upon appointment and end Dec. 31, 2025.

Board members serve three-year terms. Upon expiration of a term, a member can apply again. There is no limit on how many terms a member can serve.

Stormwater Partners of Southwest Washington is proud to announce the winners of the third annual Students for Clean Water Video Contest. The disc golf course at Hockinson Meadows Community Park is now open. Clark County Public Works thanks the community for helping make this project possible. We also thank the community for their patience as we worked through unexpected delays to complete the project.

Clark County is participating in a statewide project to improve high-speed internet access. As part of this project, the county is surveying the community about their access to high-speed internet. Surveys are being sent to community institutions, nonprofit organizations, groups, service providers and residents. The project's goal is to improve internet access in areas that are currently unserved or underserved.

The former caretaker residence at Lacamas Regional Park will be demolished May 15-19. The parking lot off Northeast Everett Street will be closed during the demolition. The overflow parking lot off Northeast 35th Avenue will be improved to prepare for the project.

Impacts to park users
May 8-12: The overflow parking lot off Northeast 35th Avenue will be closed for regrading. The work is expected to be complete by Friday May 12 but is dependent on weather.

May 13 and 14: Both parking lots will be open Saturday and Sunday.
