Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey is encouraging voters to take advantage of several convenient ways to submit their special election ballots early, in case there is inclement weather on Election Day, Feb. 12.

The National Weather Service is calling for temperatures to remain near freezing through Tuesday, Feb. 12, and the possibility of precipitation. A wintery weather mix could mean closure of Election Day-only ballot drop sites and difficulty for voters to safely access ballot drop sites.

“For this election, postage for returned ballots is pre-paid,” said Kimsey. “If voters are using the mail, they need to ensure their voted ballots are postmarked no later than Tuesday, Feb. 12.”

Voters also can return ballots by:

• Taking them to the Elections Office at 1408 Franklin St.
  • Election office hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, and Election Day, from 7 am to 8 pm.
• Deposit ballots in one of seven drive-up permanent ballot drop boxes located throughout the county.
  • Drop boxes are available 24-hours a day.

“I urge voters to keep an eye on the weather forecast and for the possibility of Election Day-only ballot drop site locations, such as schools, being closed or opening late,” said Elections Director Cathie Garber.
