Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County Elections is seeking residents to write statements opposing two measures on the Feb. 13, 2018 special election ballot.
Elections attempts to find people to write statements about local ballot measures when it receives only a supporting or opposing statement. A legislative body placing a measure on the ballot can appoint a committee to write a supporting statement and another to write an opposing statement. If the legislative body cannot identify people to write both statements, it submits only one. In that case, Elections attempts to find someone to write the second statement.
Elections is now seeking someone to write a statement in opposition of a proposition from the La Center School District for a general obligation bond and someone to write a statement opposing a proposition from the city of Camas for an emergency medical services levy.

Anyone interested in writing one of the opposing statements is asked to contact Clark County Elections at 360.397.2345. The deadline to submit a statement is Friday, Dec. 22.
“The public is best served by having a voters’ guide that presents a fair and balanced debate on the merits of local measures submitted for a vote,” said Auditor Greg Kimsey. “We urge anyone interested to help us get opposing statements to these local measures into the voters’ guide.”
