Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County residents will have the opportunity to help neighbors in need by bringing non-perishable food donations to the upcoming State of the County 2020 event.
The annual gathering will be 6-7:30 pm Wednesday, March 11 in the sixth-floor hearing room in the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.
Food drive
Clark County has a long history of collecting non-perishable food at its State of the County events. This year, Clark Neighbors Food Project will distribute the donated food to the local food pantries. CNFP began in 2017. Program volunteers provide participating residents with a green bag that they fill by picking up one extra food item each time they shop for groceries. Every two months, neighborhood coordinators pick up the green bags that donors leave outside their front door.
Learn more about the CNFP and how you can participate at the State of the County or online at https://clarkfoodproject.org/.
The event begins with light refreshments at 6 pm and presentations will begin at 6:15 pm.
For those unable to attend, the program may be viewed later on CVTV Channels 21 and 23. For viewing times or to watch online visit www.cvtv.org.
