Vancouver, Wash. – The county manager is seeking applicants to fill two vacant elected official positions on the volunteer Community Action Advisory Board.

The twelve-member board makes recommendations about local government funding for basic needs, self-sufficiency and housing programs. Members also advocate for services supporting low-income communities, families and persons.

The open positions are for elected officials from the county’s third and fourth districts. A map of the districts is available on the county’s website at www.clark.wa.gov/community-services/community-action-advisory-board.

Elected officials are defined as any person elected to a position through a county held general election including city councils, school boards, port commissions, fire districts, etc. An official who is elected by countywide vote may hold any open elected position of the board.

Term periods are three years, ending on a staggered basis. Incumbents have the opportunity for re-appointment to two additional three-year terms.

Clark County is looking to diversify the board composition and encourages people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to apply, especially those from historically oppressed or underserved communities.
