Brian Kessel, Chief Enforcement Deputy

Brian has been with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for 24 years. During his tenure, he has served as a Cadet, Patrol Deputy, Field Training Officer, Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor, Crisis Negotiator, Narcotics Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Field Training Coordinator, Tactical Detective Unit Sergeant, Traffic Unit Sergeant, and Chief Enforcement Deputy. In 2021, Brian was awarded the Supervisor of the Year Award for designing and developing a training and career development program for aspiring detectives within the agency. 

Brian served on the Clark County Deputy Sheriff’s Guild Executive Board for several years. He has been an Executive Board Member, Secretary, Vice President, and most recently, President. He has a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Washington State University and is an FBI Northwest Command College graduate. 

Brian was born and raised in Vancouver and is a second-generation Clark County Deputy Sheriff. In his time off, he enjoys woodworking, camping, and golfing.
