Vancouver, Wash. – Elections officials will hand count approximately 600 randomly selected ballots on Wednesday, Nov. 8, as part of a manual comparison against machine results of the general election a day earlier. The ballots will have been counted in the total Nov. 7 election returns.
The manual count, which is to prove the accuracy of the ballot tabulation equipment, will start at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Election Office, 1408 Franklin St. The manual count procedure was recommended by the Washington Secretary of State’s Office and is now standard procedure in Clark County.
The 600 ballots will be randomly chosen from precincts where residents could vote on the Port of Vancouver commissioner race, and the manual count will focus only on that race.
If a registered voter has not received a ballot, please contact the Elections Office at 360.397.2345 or elections@clark.wa.gov.
Ballots cannot be forwarded to a new address. If a voter has recently moved but the Elections Office did not receive a change of address, the ballot will be returned as undeliverable.
Starting Friday, Nov. 3, a registered voter can download a replacement ballot at clarkvotes.org. The voter must print the ballot and return it following the instructions included in the download.
