Vancouver, WA – For the first time in more than a dozen years, pet license fees will go up in Vancouver, Yacolt and unincorporated Clark County, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 1.
The Board of County Councilors approved the increases today, and Vancouver City Council approved them in December. All three jurisdictions abide by similar codes for animal control services.
Fees have not been raised since 2004.
Here is a comparison of fees through January and what they will be starting next week:

Pet license fee assistance is available for households on limited incomes and in unincorporated Clark County or the city of Vancouver. Only one dog and one cat per household may qualify. Pets must be spayed or neutered.
People older than 65 can receive 50 percent off the annual license fee for one spayed or neutered dog and one spayed or neutered cat.
The penalty for not licensing a pet is $100.
