Vancouver, Wash. – With the uncertainty around how the state’s public-gathering guidelines will unfold over the next several months, Clark County Public Works leadership made the difficult decision to extend the pause on new picnic shelter reservations and park-use permits through 2021. Additionally, all existing 2021 reservations will be cancelled. Impacted customers will receive a full refund. Staff actively monitor local and state guidelines to determine if the pause on these services could be lifted. Updates will be available as soon as possible.

Vancouver, Wash. – Contractor crews with Clark County Public Works will reduce the number of lanes to one lane in each direction at the intersection of Highway 99 and Northeast 99th Street the morning of Saturday, Jan. 30.

During that morning, drivers can expect single-lane traffic and delays in all directions near the project location. The intersection will be controlled with flaggers.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County Public Works is asking residents to avoid flooded areas on trails in Clark County parks. Heavy rain overnight has caused minor flooding in several parks throughout Clark County. Portions of the Daybreak Regional Park Trail and the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail have been closed due to water over the trail.

Vancouver, Wash. – Crews with Clark County Public Works have closed a 3.7-mile portion of Pacific Highway between Woodland and La Center. The closure will allow crews to make repairs to the roadway that were damaged after heavy rains caused a mudslide.

Pacific Highway will remain closed between Northwest Bratton Road in Woodland and Northwest Bolan Street in La Center. Drivers should take alternate routes during the closure. No through traffic will be allowed, but local access will be maintained.

Vancouver, Wash. – Annual parking passes for four of Clark County’s biggest, most popular parks will go on sale starting today.

2021 passes cost $30 and will be valid at Frenchman’s Bar Regional Park, Lewisville Regional Park, Salmon Creek Regional Park/Klineline Pond and Vancouver Lake Regional Park.

Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 1, passes can be purchased online at: www.clark.wa.gov/public-works/parking-fees.

As part of Gov. Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order, gatherings for those counties in Phase 2 must remain under five. Not accepting new reservations for park areas helps ensure those guidelines are being followed.

Vancouver, Wash. – Regular drivers along the Northeast Manley Road near Northeast 254th Street can expect continued lane closures as contractors with Clark County Public Works continue culvert replacement work.

Vancouver, Wash. –The Clark County Public Works department is re-opening all play structures across the county parks system following guidance from Public Health and state guidelines.

Public Works closed playgrounds in late March in accordance with the early public health guidelines aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19. Clark County joins a growing list of jurisdictions that are re-opening play structures in accordance with local and state public health guidelines.

Vancouver, Wash. – The season is changing, which means leaves are falling from trees all around Clark County. Residents of Vancouver and Clark County can dispose up to five cubic yards of leaves for free with coupons provided by Clark County Public Works and the city of Vancouver. Coupons must be filled out to be eligible for free leaf disposal.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, coupons are not available for pickup at public facilities. Community members are encouraged to print-out, clip out or get coupons in advance.

Vancouver, Wash. –Clark County is seeking applicants to fill one open position on the Clean Water Commission.

Terms for the open position begin January 2021 and end December 2023.

The nine-member advisory group makes recommendations to the Clark County Council about services, policies and financing needed to meet federal and state requirements for water quality and stormwater management improvements.
